This second volume contains essays on the history of the instrument, written by the magazine's most active cooperators, namely M. R. Brondi, Rezio Buscaroli, Romolo Ferrari, Emilio Pujol, Giuseppe Raspelli, Eleuterio F. Tiscornia and others. Texts were all commented by the editors in the light of the most recent musicological discoveries. Some articles describe the international guitar scene of the time and finally there are some articles on guitar making, with contributions by Ugo Baldini, Arnaldo Casassa and Giulio Vio, including the genesis and results of guitar making competition organized by the magazine in 1937. The noble style of narration, the dialogues at the distance and the controversies among epoque guitarists are still fascinating nowadays and together help to reflect on the history of the guitar as seen through the eyes of his contemporaries, since its timid outburst at the turn of 20th-century to its full emergence as a concert instrument.
